Tara Charboneau

I’d like to welcome you to Spirit Lake Vocational Rehabilitation Page and I’d also like to to introduce myself.

My name is Tara Charboneau. I am currently serving S.L.V R as an Outreach Counselor. I have held this position since 2016. I enjoy my position at SLVR and I look forward to helping community members of Spirit Lake attain, regain or retain employment.

I have lived and worked in this community since 2004, I started out at Head Start when it was located at CCCC. I then went back to working as a Cosmetologist. To speed forward I had a couple more kids, bounced around odd jobs and finally decided to go to college at CCCC. Afterwards; I found myself back at Head Start. Then, Minnewaukan Public School all to make life easier and be on she same schedule as my kids. As the kids grew things changed. In 2014 I applied for a position under the Tribe at S.L Early Childhood Tracking, after 4 years I decided I needed a change. In 2016 I found myself at SLVR as Outreach Counselor. As of today I see no need for change. I am happy with my decisions.

Looking back at all my challenges in my career along with my husband’s career choice as a self-employed business owner; I feel as though throughout all of the struggles to get to where I am today, I have been preparing for vocational rehabilitation. I am in a good position to help guide, encourage and support you to make the changes to make a better life for yourself and your family.
