Situated in Estacada, close to the Mount Hood National Forest, the Adult and Teen Challenge Portland Metro Men’s Campus provides a faith-based rehabilitation program for men grappling with substance use issues. Established by David Wilkerson in 1960, the organization has expanded to include around 250 centers in the U.S. and more than 1,000 worldwide. The Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge programs require an initial fee of $500 upon entry, with no recurring monthly payments throughout the duration of the program. This campus hosts a year-long program with a capacity for 40 men, located approximately a 30-minute drive southeast of downtown Portland. The curriculum at Adult and Teen Challenge emphasizes recovery through a biblical framework, aiming for personal healing from substance-related struggles, reconciliation with Jesus Christ and others, and transformation rooted in faith. Participants engage in sermons, Bible study sessions, prayer activities, spiritual retreats, and vocational training throughout their journey. Life Renewal clinical counseling provides support by integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention techniques from a Christian viewpoint. The program does not include medical personnel, so individuals are required to finish detox before enrollment. To enhance recovery efforts, communication is restricted to immediate family members, and electronic devices are prohibited. Smoking is also prohibited as part of the commitment to a substance-free environment.
This facility focuses on addressing issues related to substance use disorders, assisting individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them to caring support networks.
At Adult and Teen Challenge Portland Men's Campus, we are committed to providing a comprehensive, Christ-centered recovery program for men struggling with substance use. Our program features a one-time intake fee of $500, which is collected at the start of the program. Importantly, there are no additional monthly fees throughout the duration of the one-year program, ensuring that financial concerns do not hinder one's journey toward recovery. While we do not have medical staff on site, we encourage individuals seeking treatment to complete detox prior to admission. It is also important to note that we do not accept insurance, as our programs are primarily funded through private contributions and support from local churches and community partners. For those seeking assistance, we invite you to reach out and discuss potential payment options or financial assistance that may be available. Our focus is on your recovery and spiritual transformation, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
