The SOAR Program at Children’s Home of York provides around-the-clock psychiatric residential care for adolescents aged 13 to 18 who are dealing with trauma, emotional difficulties, or behavioral health issues. Adhering to Sanctuary principles, SOAR assists young individuals in developing self-esteem, essential life skills, and trust through systematic care and individualized treatment strategies. Each youth is given the necessary support to heal and prepare for a successful return home. SOAR employs a trauma-aware, strengths-oriented methodology influenced by Trust-Based Relational Intervention. Adolescents participate in evidence-based therapies that include dialectical behavior therapy, expressive arts, emotional regulation techniques, and animal-assisted therapy. These therapeutic approaches, along with skill development in self-worth and healthy relationships, equip each youth with the resources necessary for emotional and social growth. Additionally, teens acquire life skills in areas such as cooking, financial literacy, and cultural awareness while enrolled in an on-site educational program in collaboration with Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. The ANGEL Center includes a Snoezelen Room—a customizable multi-sensory space designed to help youth soothe their minds and manage their emotions. This nurturing environment promotes self-confidence, connection, and enduring healing.
At the rehabilitation center, individuals are offered customized support for various mental health issues. The facility focuses on providing therapeutic services and tailoring treatments to fit your specific needs, diagnosis, and personal choices.
The admissions staff at the Children's Home of York will collaborate with you to identify the most suitable payment plans tailored to your circumstances, guaranteeing that you receive the highest quality of care.
