Compass Rose Academy was specifically created to provide a faith-centered boarding environment catering to the unique challenges faced by girls aged 14 to 18 who are dealing with emotional and behavioral issues. The residential program is based on the conviction that Christ represents the ultimate source of healing and love, incorporating faith-based teachings, Bible studies, and worship into its framework. Additionally, Compass Rose employs a distinctive Growth Model approach to recovery that focuses on addressing the root causes of anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties, rather than merely alleviating symptoms. Throughout the year-long program, participants are given the opportunity to work through their challenges alongside a licensed counselor. Key components of the program include dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), equine therapy, physical exercise, and overall wellness initiatives. Parents are encouraged to engage actively throughout the treatment, receiving ongoing support, regular updates, counseling, and opportunities for visitation. Therapists collaborate with both parents and students to establish agreements for home visits and behavior expectations, ensuring clarity for off-campus interactions. Academic programs are also integrated on-site through a partnership with the Edgenuity Virtual Academy, utilizing a Christian curriculum. Licensed educators create individualized academic plans to help each student make progress toward their graduation goals. The campus itself spans 800 acres, offering various activities and facilities, including a softball field, ponds, a gymnasium, and a swimming pool. Each student is provided with a private bedroom. In addition, students frequently attend concerts and other Christian events together, which are typically engaging and feature motivational themes.
At this center, clients benefit from customized support for their mental health issues. The facility offers therapy and adapts treatment strategies to fit each individual's specific requirements, diagnoses, and personal choices.
