Situated just outside Annapolis, Discovery Mood offers a serene residential treatment campus tailored to address mental health disorders. Comprising three distinct and attractive residences, this facility is designed to cater to the unique needs of young adults, adults, and individuals with co-occurring disorders. Tucked away at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac, the setting features a picturesque wooded area complete with walking paths and vibrant greenery. Each of the three residences provides a secure, nurturing, and home-like environment that enables clients to concentrate on regaining their pre-crisis stability while developing effective coping skills and recovery strategies. The treatment model at Discovery is highly individualized, boasting a low patient-to-staff ratio (6:1) that facilitates meaningful engagement and personalized care. Clients typically participate in treatment for a duration of 35 to 45 days. Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, Discovery incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) among its offerings. Additionally, experiential therapies—including art therapy, equine therapy, recreational therapy, and meditation—are integral components of the program. The emphasis on life skills training encompasses daily living practices, relationship building, educational assistance, career development, and planning for life transitions. Following treatment completion, the alumni program at Discovery helps former patients maintain connections, receive ongoing support, and pursue their recovery objectives. Pre-Contemplation and Contemplation Stages of Change: In this initial phase, patients acclimate to the residential treatment environment and its structure, with all individuals required to spend at least 72 hours in the pre-phase. Contemplation and Preparation Stages of Change: At this stage, patients recognize the necessity of treatment, appreciate their self-worth, and identify necessary changes. They begin taking actionable steps toward their recovery goals. Preparation and Action Stages of Change: During this phase, patients actively participate in therapy and start applying insights gained in sessions, enhancing their ability to manage daily stressors and regulate their emotions independently. Action and Maintenance Stages of Change: In this final phase, patients show consistent control over their emotions and can sustain the positive changes achieved during treatment with minimal staff assistance.
At this center, you will experience individualized support for mental health challenges. The staff offers therapy and customizes treatment plans according to your specific requirements, diagnoses, and personal preferences.
