Embark at Chevy Chase provides comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment for youths aged 9 to 18 and their families. The center's most intensive option is the partial hospitalization program (PHP), which is a structured day program that includes a mix of individual and group therapies, ensuring personalized attention from educators who assist with academic work. Participants have the opportunity to earn transferable school credits. This program addresses acute psychiatric challenges that require support but do not necessitate around-the-clock care, utilizing techniques such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), individual counseling, group and family therapy sessions, and various experiential therapies. Following the PHP, the center offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that mirrors the partial hospitalization format, with sessions scheduled in the evenings to fit around school and work for families. Adolescents in IOP benefit from personalized treatment plans that may incorporate options such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and SMART Recovery for addiction. Participants generally commit to at least 12 hours each week, attending about 3 hours per day, 4 to 6 days a week. For added convenience, Embark at Chevy Chase also provides a virtual intensive outpatient program, making care accessible when in-person visits are challenging. The center focuses on helping adolescents and young adults facing various mental health and behavioral issues. The skilled team at Embark is equipped to address disorders such as borderline personality disorder (BPD), bipolar disorder, ADHD, depression, and anxiety, along with behavioral challenges including eating disorders, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), reactive attachment disorder (RAD), gaming addiction, and substance use disorders.
The rehabilitation center specializes in addressing issues related to substance abuse and mental health. You will benefit from personalized treatment tailored to your specific needs and circumstances, acquire essential skills for recovery, and forge new relationships in a supportive atmosphere.
