Adult and Teen Challenge Great Lakes (ATCGL) offers a Christian-centered Discipleship program tailored for women grappling with substance abuse issues. This initiative features a faith-driven framework that requires a year-long commitment, guiding participants through four distinct levels of care. The program places a strong emphasis on spiritual, emotional, and physical recovery while also providing educational and social training, equipping women for life after overcoming addiction. As a nonprofit organization, ATCGL maintains very affordable fees, prioritizing long-lasting recovery regardless of the duration needed. Level 1 (14 weeks): In the initial phase, Recovery Residents engage in classes focused on identifying and altering harmful thought patterns and beliefs. They explore the fundamental needs that led to substance use and acquire coping strategies to deal with cravings. Level 2 (12 weeks): During the Renewal phase, residents delve into the comprehensive healing—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—necessary to address the underlying issues associated with addiction. Level 3 (12 weeks): In the Restoration and Healing phase, participants reflect on their life’s purpose and learn how to pursue a substance-free future, helping them build a strong foundation and recognize their individual talents. Level 4 (12 weeks): Lastly, the Transition phase encourages residents to translate their learning into practical actions. They seek employment and housing, develop time and resource management skills, and begin to emerge as leaders, contributing positively to their communities.
The focus of this center is on addressing substance use disorders by providing stabilization, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and facilitating connections to caring support systems.
