Hope is Alive (HIA) Ministries adopts a faith-based methodology for addressing substance use challenges. The initiative was inspired by the journey of founder Lance Lang as he overcame addiction, along with the support his wife and co-founder Ally provided during this process. HIA recognizes addiction as a medical condition, emphasizes the significance of prayer and community involvement, believes in the potential for recovery that encompasses the entire family, underscores the necessity of substituting harmful behaviors with healthier alternatives, acknowledges that emotions are integral to the healing journey, and promotes a message of hope. In Kansas, they provide sober living accommodations in Wichita, Overland Park, and Kansas City (exclusive to men), and they also run a women's residence in Kansas City, Missouri. The sober living initiative at HIA targets the fundamental emotional traumas that contribute to substance use, aiming for transformative life changes. Their residences are gender-specific and typically consist of shared rooms, equipped with fresh bedding, dressers, nightstands, lamps, and personal kitchen facilities. Participants are encouraged to bring along a Bible, food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing hangers, laundry supplies, towels, and sufficient clothing for a month. In addition to providing shelter, HIA offers a structured schedule for its participants. They are encouraged to join a local 12-Step program, secure full-time jobs in the area, and take part in optional adventure activities such as skiing and retreats. Residents are required to engage in monthly mentor meetings, attend a local church, join a Sunday evening house meeting, participate in a Monday night Bible study, and attend a Wednesday group meeting, all held at 6:30 p.m. local time. The program adapts its curriculum to suit individual resident needs and offers support for legal matters as required. Monthly community service opportunities are also available. The duration of the program ranges from 12 to 18 months, with a significant number of participants choosing to stay for the full 18 months. The fee structure consists of $750 for the initial month and $650 for subsequent months. To maintain sobriety, HIA conducts random drug screenings. Located in Oklahoma City, Hope is Alive extends its impact nationwide through its sober living facilities and family therapy services, along with retreats, a YouVersion Bible reading plan, and collaborations with churches, corporations, and schools. Their YouTube channel features endorsements from Craig Groeschel, and they have partnered with notable figures like Groeschel, Tim Tebow, Brandon Lake, and Ben Fuller in their retreat offerings. Additional information about both regular and unique programming is disseminated through their RADICAL magazine and blog. Hope is Alive also provides complimentary family support through the Finding Hope initiative, dedicated to loving and praying for one another intentionally. They facilitate meetings twice monthly, lasting between 60 to 90 minutes. Their Hope After Loss counseling service is designed to assist individuals grieving the loss of a loved one due to addiction.
At this center, the main focus is on addressing issues related to substance use disorders. They assist individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them to a network of caring support.
At Hope is Alive Recovery Homes - Kansas, we are committed to making our Christ-centered substance use treatment accessible to everyone in need of support. We understand that navigating insurance and payment options can be challenging, which is why we aim to provide clear and comprehensive information regarding our policies. While we do not accept insurance directly, we offer flexible payment options for our residents. The cost for the first month of the sober living program is $750, with subsequent months priced at $650. This fee includes access to our supportive community, structured program, and various resources designed to facilitate lasting recovery. We recognize that each individual's financial situation is unique, and we encourage potential residents to reach out to our admissions team to discuss any concerns or explore payment arrangements.
