Latino Behavioral Health Services (LBHS) is situated close to the Mill Creek Station Light Rail. This nonprofit organization operates on a grassroots level with the aim of addressing mental health service disparities faced by Utah's underrepresented Latino community. As a peer-led organization, LBHS strives to promote mental health awareness and overall well-being through various forms of support, education, empowerment, and resource distribution, all while being mindful of cultural, socioeconomic, and linguistic contexts. LBHS utilizes a culturally attuned approach, providing therapy, peer support, educational workshops, and SMART Recovery groups specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the Latino community. Their programs include specialized support in areas such as grief, emotional health, family dynamics, and LGBTQ+ issues. They also focus on the requirements of Latinx youth aged 12-26, addressing specific challenges like immigration and queer identity in Utah. With initiatives designed "by Latinos, for Latinos," LBHS ensures that their services resonate with the cultural backgrounds of their clients, laying the groundwork for recovery and empowerment in mental health. To enhance accessibility, LBHS features a sliding-scale payment system and accepts Medicaid for Peer Support Services. In addition, Latino Behavioral Health Services provides therapy and peer support at designated locations, available by appointment only: 237 26th Street, Ogden, UT 84401; 885 W. Ute Blvd., Park City, UT 84098; and 777 W. 500 N. #005, Provo, UT 84601.
The center specializes in addressing issues related to substance abuse and mental health. Here, you will experience personalized treatment tailored to your specific needs and diagnosis, acquire essential skills for recovery, and forge new relationships in a supportive atmosphere.
At LBHS, we are committed to ensuring that all individuals can obtain high-quality mental health care, no matter their financial situation. To support this belief, we provide a sliding scale fee plan for our Peer Services and accept Medicaid as a payment option.
