Magnolia Creek is a dedicated residential treatment facility exclusively for women, focusing on the support and recovery of women and adolescent girls dealing with eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, compulsive exercise disorder, pica disorder, muscle dysmorphia, and purging disorder, as well as related health issues. The center provides a comprehensive range of care, offering personalized treatment plans that meet each individual's unique needs. Their approach integrates evidence-based practices alongside holistic treatments. The residential program spans 30 days, during which clients engage in individual therapy, group therapy, and various experiential and recreational activities. Each day's therapies may include modalities like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing (MI), and family counseling. Clients also have the chance to take part in experiential therapies such as animal-assisted therapy, wilderness therapy, art therapy, sand-tray therapy, music therapy, and adventure therapy. Upon completing residential care, clients transition to a Day Treatment program or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), where they continue their treatment while residing at home, allowing them to practice newly acquired coping skills in daily life. Magnolia Creek additionally hosts a three-day intensive family program monthly and offers continuous aftercare support. Nestled in a serene and scenic environment in Columbiana, Alabama, approximately an hour southeast of Birmingham, Magnolia Creek is set on a beautiful 40-acre wooded estate featuring a spacious private lake. The charming colonial-style home accommodates up to 14 residents, offering comfortable living spaces, a cozy living room with a fireplace, and a relaxing wraparound porch. An on-site chef provides three meals a day for the clients. Residents can also benefit from outdoor activities like nature walks, yoga, and horseback riding. Magnolia Creek holds accreditation from the Joint Commission and accepts a variety of private insurance plans.
