Newport Academy is dedicated to empowering adolescents and mending family bonds through a holistic and evidence-informed treatment model. Their approach is divided into four main types of therapy: clinical, experiential, spiritual, and academic. The variety of therapeutic options available at Newport includes body image groups, gender-specific therapy, 12-Step programs, Bowen's family systems approach, equine therapy, music and art therapy, horticultural activities, culinary training, and yoga sessions. Upon entering the program, each patient undergoes a thorough assessment to determine their specific needs and goals for treatment. A customized care team, consisting of counselors, nurses, a psychiatrist, and a dietitian, is assembled to support each adolescent throughout their journey. To aid in the rebuilding of family connections, Newport Academy employs attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Both individual and group therapy sessions foster connections between patients and their peers, helping to establish a strong support network that is extended to families as well. Treatment plans are tailored to include activities such as equine therapy, creative arts, yoga, meditation, adventure therapy, and various evidence-based methods. Horticultural therapy invites teens to engage with nature and utilize their skills in maintaining Newport's gardens. Additionally, outpatient programs and day schools are available for those requiring a more adaptable schedule. Situated in Virginia, the center offers a tranquil setting that allows adolescents to connect with nature while ensuring their privacy. The program features a fully accredited high school curriculum, facilitated by qualified teachers on-site. Newport Academy also provides individual tutoring, educational assessment, and academic planning services. Located in a peaceful residential area, Newport Academy offers convenient access to Washington D.C. and nearby attractions that can be enjoyable for both teens and their families. Its campuses are adjacent to a 300-acre nature preserve along the Potomac River, and during their stay, patients have the opportunity to utilize a fitness center and relax in an outdoor lounge.
The center specializes in addressing issues related to substance use and mental health. Here, you'll benefit from personalized treatment tailored to your specific needs and diagnosis, acquire essential skills for your recovery journey, and build meaningful relationships within a supportive atmosphere.
The insurance providers included are the current network partners affiliated with this facility. Although not displayed here, Newport is open to accepting a variety of out-of-network insurance plans and is glad to assist you in investigating your coverage possibilities.
