Opal: Food and Body Wisdom is a specialized outpatient facility dedicated to assisting adults grappling with various eating disorders, along with those experiencing associated obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The center provides two distinct levels of day treatment: a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Their program schedules are designed so clients can access necessary care while also resuming their educational or professional commitments when they feel ready during their healing journey. Opal: Food and Body Wisdom is committed to liberating individuals from the constraints of diet culture and fostering societal change regarding food, body image, physical activity, and mental well-being. Their approach is centered around a non-diet and non-weight focused treatment philosophy. Opal's goal is to empower each client to mend their relationship with food and body. The center prioritizes weight inclusivity and integrates nutrition counseling, movement, and exposure and response prevention, all supported by a relational approach that facilitates profound healing. Opal offers a range of group activities that include creative arts, physical movement, awareness of body sensations, nutritional guidance, sharing of personal narratives, and more. Additionally, Opal organizes free Alumni Groups to assist former clients in continuing their recovery after completing the program.
At this center, you can receive specialized treatment for eating disorders, assisting you in managing symptoms, developing coping strategies, and regaining your physical well-being with the support of experienced professionals.
Opal collaborates with a wide range of leading health insurance providers, including but not limited to Optum, Regence, Premera, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, and Kaiser Permanente.
