Serenity Lane was established by Tom Kerns, motivated by the personal loss of his father to alcoholism at a young age, with the goal of making addiction recovery services widely available. The center welcomes patients every day of the week, providing the option for same-day admission. Serenity Lane Eugene features a range of outpatient treatment choices for those seeking recovery from substance use disorders, including individuals facing co-occurring disorders and those with only mental health challenges. The center provides numerous virtual options across all outpatient treatment levels, including remote mental health therapy, and offers programming in both daytime and evening slots. Services include a confidential initial screening, assessments paired with care planning, and support for 12-step engagement. Serenity Lane Eugene has two tiers of outpatient services dedicated to drug and alcohol addiction treatment. The level II intensive outpatient program (IOP) spans 10 weeks and comprises group therapy, one-on-one counseling, and educational sessions on addiction. Treatment groups convene three times a week for three hours each meeting. During the program, participants might be required to provide urine samples for substance testing. Although this testing incurs an extra cost, some insurance plans may cover a portion of this fee. As part of the treatment process, both patients and their families are anticipated to participate in weekly family education seminars to foster supportive community connections. The seminars cover various topics, including self-acceptance as someone dealing with addiction, personal recovery plans, strategies for preventing relapse, and adapting to life in sobriety. Staff are available to help patients develop their recovery plans, and patients are encouraged to schedule sessions with their counselors as needed. During the halfway point in treatment, patients will be tasked with sharing an autobiography detailing the impact of addiction on their lives. As treatment nears completion, individuals will review their recovery plans with their counselors to address any lingering questions and receive referrals for ongoing community assistance, such as individual or marital counseling. The center’s level I outpatient program consists of weekly sessions lasting 1.5 hours, aimed at helping participants identify and cope with stressful situations and navigate the challenges of early recovery. Companions and family members are welcome to join these sessions. Serenity Lane provides entertaining events, alumni recovery support gatherings, volunteer opportunities, and practical advice for personal growth in recovery through its alumni services, some of which are available virtually. Furthermore, individuals can access recovery support for a complete year following the conclusion of outpatient treatment. A family program is also offered at no extra charge, which combines education, therapy, and support to mend and enhance communication within family units. Support groups for families are available, and spouses or significant others can take part in weekly family support sessions, with options for scheduling family meetings with the patient’s primary counselor when necessary. Serenity Lane’s DUII education and diversion programs are certified by the Oregon state authorities and meet all necessary court and DMV mandates. They provide DMV-certified diversion, treatment groups, and educational classes. For individuals required to undergo treatment, a “Blue Flag” program is available to monitor and report patients' progress and attendance.
The Rehabilitation Center offers support for individuals struggling with substance abuse and simultaneous mental health issues. Here, each treatment strategy is tailored to address all conditions simultaneously, providing empathetic and individualized care for complete recovery.
