Sheepgate serves as a nonprofit rehabilitation center and is part of Adult + Teen Challenge of the Midlands. This facility focuses on faith-based treatment specifically tailored for men, offering a structured 12-month program that distinguishes itself from conventional recovery options. An essential aspect of their approach is the integration of spiritual teachings, utilizing biblical principles to aid individuals in overcoming challenges such as addiction, depression, and anxiety. The program incorporates a Bible-centered curriculum that encourages residents to apply faith in their daily lives, facilitated through educational sessions, independent study, personalized counseling, and engagement in a Christian community. The center features a robust work program designed for residents to acquire new skills. Collaborating with various local businesses, Sheepgate provides opportunities for residents to gain experience in fields such as carpentry, mechanics, and retail. This practical exposure allows participants to develop essential skills, including responsibility, teamwork, and effective communication. Furthermore, the program supports those interested in obtaining their GED if they have not done so previously. Sheepgate is equipped with two residences. At the start of the rehabilitation journey, participants reside in Colfax, Iowa, before transitioning to Omaha, Nebraska, where they can practice the lessons learned in a historic home that affords greater freedom and peer support. The initial seven months involve dormitory-style living in Colfax, where residents share rooms and participate in work-related tasks, including maintenance duties, lawn care, and animal care. The final phase takes place in Omaha, providing individuals with a chance to experience sober living outside the center, while exploring employment and hobbies, all while fostering sobriety. Achieving a 70% success rate, Sheepgate requires a modest intake fee of $750 upon acceptance into the program. The commitment to recovery is vital, and the dedicated staff at Sheepgate is devoted to supporting each participant's journey toward a healthier future.
At this facility, the main focus is on addressing issues related to substance use disorders. It aims to assist individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and accessing empathetic support.
At Sheepgate Men's Program, we understand that the financial aspects of rehabilitation can be a concern for many individuals and their families. As a nonprofit organization and a division of Adult + Teen Challenge of the Midlands, we strive to make our faith-based, gender-specific treatment accessible to those in need. Currently, our program requires a one-time intake fee of $750 upon acceptance into the program. This fee supports the comprehensive treatment and support services that we offer to our residents over the duration of the 12-month program. It is important to note that we operate on a sliding scale and assess each individual’s financial situation to ensure that cost is not a barrier to receiving the help they need. While we do not directly accept insurance, we encourage potential residents to explore their insurance benefits for potential reimbursement or support toward the intake fee. We are also happy to provide documentation that may assist in claims for those looking to utilize their insurance options. Our ultimate goal is to support men in their journey to recovery by providing a structured program that integrates faith, education, and hands-on work experience. If you have further questions regarding our financial policies or payment options, please feel free to reach out to our staff, who are dedicated to assisting you on this path to healing.
