Skyland Trail, situated in Atlanta, Georgia, is a highly regarded nonprofit organization specializing in mental health treatment. The center emphasizes personalized care, designing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that adopt a holistic perspective. Clients receive education about their mental health conditions in a group setting, where they learn techniques for stress management and preventing relapses. Conveniently located near I-85, just 9 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, the Charles B. West Campus of Skyland Trail provides outpatient psychiatric services to individuals across the Atlanta metropolitan area. The center works with most major private insurance providers and offers financial assistance to make treatment more affordable for qualifying families. The campus boasts bright, airy communal areas, a wellness center, gardens, and scenic walking paths. Clients participate in weekly individualized sessions with both a psychiatrist and a therapist, along with group therapies, skills development, peer support, personal fitness activities, and various expressive therapies, including art, music, and horticulture. The group therapy sessions cover diverse topics, featuring peer-led discussions on themes such as LGBTQ issues, BIPOC experiences, grief, parenting, and substance use. The cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) day treatment offers comprehensive support for individuals dealing with depression and anxiety. Clients may move from residential care to day treatment or may be admitted directly into the day treatment program, which operates from 10 AM to 4 PM on weekdays. Many clients then transition to an intensive outpatient program (IOP), scheduled from 11 AM to 3 PM on weekdays for a duration of 1-2 months. The Charles B. West Campus also administers numerous services for those enrolled in Skyland Trail’s residential treatment programs.
At this center, we focus on the treatment of mental health disorders alongside concurrent substance use issues. Our approach emphasizes personalized care that collaboratively targets both problems, fostering comprehensive recovery for every individual.
Skyland Trail collaborates with numerous prominent private insurance companies. Over 35 percent of clients benefit from financial assistance programs that help lower out-of-pocket expenses not included by their insurance plans.
