Situated in Atlanta, Georgia, the Skyland Trail J. Rex Fuqua Campus caters to adolescents aged 14-17 and is affiliated with a nationally esteemed nonprofit organization focused on mental health treatment. The center prioritizes individualized care, designing evidence-based treatment plans that incorporate a holistic perspective. Educational programs are offered in a classroom format to help clients understand their mental health challenges and equip them with techniques to mitigate stress and avoid relapse. Positioned 13 miles to the northeast of downtown Atlanta, the Skyland J. Rex Fuqua Campus provides residential services to teenagers from the surrounding area. The organization works in partnership with most major private insurance providers and offers financial assistance to lessen costs for qualifying families. At the Skyland Trail J. Rex Fuqua Campus, residential clients are provided with private rooms and bathrooms, as well as various amenities including cozy dining areas, lounges filled with natural light, study spaces, garden areas, and outdoor recreational facilities. A qualified team of licensed nurses and residential staff is available around the clock. Participants in both residential and day treatment programs engage in schoolwork, collaborating with their current educational institutions or through ADVANTAGES Digital Learning Solutions, dedicating 2.5 hours each day to academic progress. Each week encompasses personal consultations with a psychiatrist and therapist, group sessions, skills development, peer support, physical fitness and sports activities, yoga, and creative therapies such as art and music. Clients and their families are required to attend family therapy sessions weekly via video, along with an additional program aimed at educating and supporting caregivers. Therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) are utilized to address various issues, including anxiety, low self-worth, anger, and self-harm. Additional group sessions based on Ecological Systems Theory and substance use are also included. Personalized treatment may involve psychological assessments and possibly trauma-specific prolonged exposure (PE) therapy. Clients typically stay for a duration of 8-12 weeks before transitioning to day treatment. Day treatment usually lasts between 4-6 weeks, with clients arriving Monday through Friday between 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM and departing at 3 PM. Clients cannot drive themselves to these sessions. This stage often follows residential treatment, but clients can also directly enter this program if suitable. For those who admit directly to day treatment, the program generally extends for an extra 4 weeks.
The center provides support for mental health disorders alongside substance use challenges. Here, you will engage in personalized and cooperative therapies that tackle both concerns, promoting overall recovery and wellness.
Skyland Trail accepts a variety of major private insurance plans. Numerous families choose to utilize a mix of insurance, out-of-pocket payments, and available financial aid scholarships to help manage treatment expenses.
