SunCloud Health provides comprehensive support for individuals struggling with substance abuse, eating disorders, and mental health challenges in Chicago and Maryland. Their integrated, holistic treatment strategy addresses every element of recovery simultaneously, utilizing a variety of methods such as individual counseling, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), group sessions, interpersonal therapy, life skills preparation, medication oversight, motivational interviewing, nutritional guidance, psychoeducation, stress management techniques, essential oil therapies, drumming, yoga, experiential therapies, and relapse prevention strategies. While they do not offer the traditional 12-step program outlined by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for alcohol issues, SunCloud Health incorporates principles from these steps in their approach and advocates for participation in AA or similar support networks. For adults, they provide several care options, including residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), outpatient services, and virtual care. Adolescents can access PHP and IOP as well. Although their preference is to address all conditions concurrently, SunCloud Health also employs a harm reduction strategy, collaborating with clients on a singular issue to mitigate self-harm while allowing other issues to remain unaddressed. SunCloud Health is recognized by the Joint Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Services, the Eating Disorders Coalition, and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) President’s Council. The initial engagement with SunCloud Health begins with a phone consultation lasting between 5 to 60 minutes, to assess if their program aligns well with the individual's needs. If they feel their services are not the most suitable, they will provide referrals to other facilities. Their team is accessible around the clock for inquiries about admissions. While a COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory for residential admissions, it is not required for day or outpatient programs. For challenging cases of depression, particularly for those already on antidepressants, SunCloud Health offers Spravato, a rapid-acting nasal spray designed for major depressive episodes and persistent symptoms. Alongside therapeutic interventions and medication management for depression, SunCloud Health also provides transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive, FDA-approved procedure that is associated with minimal discomfort. In addition to their primary facility, SunCloud Health operates three additional clinics in the Chicago region and one in Maryland that focus on eating disorders, substance use, and mental health issues. These locations specialize in treating treatment-resistant depression through tailored medication, therapy, and TMS. They admit individuals irrespective of whether they are facing one challenge or multiple co-occurring conditions, applying the same holistic methodology across all sites.
The center specializes in addressing issues related to substance use and mental health. Here, you will benefit from personalized treatment that aligns with your specific needs and diagnoses. The program emphasizes the development of useful skills for recovery, while fostering new relationships within a supportive setting.
A significant number of individuals receiving care at SunCloud Health utilize their insurance benefits to cover treatment costs. Typically, patients are responsible for a deductible and a portion of co-insurance, which they pay directly to the center. When a patient is admitted to SunCloud Health, they are required to complete a “SCH Financial Agreement,” which commits them to cover the costs of the services provided, aligned with the agreements established with different insurance providers and based on each patient’s particular plan. For the payments that patients make directly to us, SunCloud Health accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, as well as checks.
