Situated along the banks of Burlington, Vermont, The Kahm Center for Eating Disorders is a family-operated outpatient treatment center dedicated to helping individuals recover from eating disorders. Established by a mother and her son, the facility is known for its customized care balancing both medical and psychological approaches. By utilizing metabolic testing and moving away from outdated weight-centric methods, it works to combat stigma and improve patient results. The center offers both intensive outpatient (IOP) and day treatment options, providing a balance of structured support and flexibility. Typically, IOP includes three-hour sessions three times a week, while day treatment features five-hour sessions five days a week. These programs encompass individual therapy, group counseling, nutritional guidance, and supported meals to aid in achieving lasting recovery. The Kahm Center caters to individuals aged 16 and above, providing inclusive treatment that accommodates all genders. As an outpatient center, it enables patients to continue their daily lives while receiving consistent support. Additionally, the center offers gradual transition programs, alumni networks, and continued outpatient services to assist patients in maintaining their recovery over the long term.
At this center, individuals struggling with eating disorders can find the support they need. The facility focuses on guiding patients through their symptoms, equipping them with effective coping strategies, and assisting in the recovery of their physical well-being under the guidance of skilled professionals.
