Situated in a desert area just east of Albuquerque, the Adult and Teen Challenge New Mexico Men’s Campus provides a faith-based rehabilitation program tailored for men dealing with addiction issues. Established by David Wilkerson in 1960, there are currently close to 250 Adult and Teen Challenge locations across the United States and over 1,000 worldwide in 95 different nations. The program requires an initial fee of $500 at the time of enrollment, but there are no additional monthly charges for the duration of the stay. The curriculum at Adult and Teen Challenge is rooted in biblical principles, emphasizing three focal points: healing from the effects of addiction, mending relationships with Jesus Christ and others, and undergoing personal transformation through faith in Christ. Participants engage in sermons, Bible study sessions, prayer activities, spiritual retreats, and vocational skills training. Life Renewal clinical counseling is offered, providing behavioral health support that incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and relapse prevention techniques from a Christian viewpoint. Importantly, the program does not staff medical professionals, meaning participants must have already completed detoxification prior to joining. To encourage a focus on recovery, communication is restricted to immediate family members, and personal electronic devices are prohibited. Additionally, to foster a drug-free environment, smoking is not permitted on the premises.
At this center, the focus is on addressing substance use disorders by helping individuals achieve stabilization, develop strategies to prevent relapse, and access empathetic support.
At Adult and Teen Challenge Albuquerque Men’s Home, we understand that navigating the financial aspects of rehabilitation can be challenging. Our program operates on a fee structure of $500 due at the time of intake. This fee covers the entirety of the program without any additional monthly costs, allowing participants to focus entirely on their recovery without the burden of ongoing financial obligations. While we do not work directly with insurance providers, we encourage individuals and families to reach out to their insurance companies to inquire about possible reimbursement options for rehabilitation services. We also suggest discussing our program’s structure and goals with your insurance provider to understand any potential coverage that may apply. For those who may find the upfront cost to be a concern, we recommend exploring alternative funding sources or community resources that can assist in meeting the initial fee. Our priority is to provide a supportive and Christ-centered environment for all men seeking recovery from substance use concerns, and we are committed to helping you find a pathway to this vital help. If you have further questions regarding payment options or financial assistance, please feel free to contact us directly.
