The Community Mental Health Affiliates (CMHA) located in New Britain provides assistance to adults, teenagers, and families dealing with mental health and addiction issues. They have a variety of care options available, including a structured intensive outpatient program (IOP) offered in both English and Spanish. Clients are supported as they balance their work, educational, or family responsibilities. CMHA adopts a personalized and compassionate approach to treatment, designing plans specifically for each individual’s circumstances. Their therapeutic offerings encompass medication-assisted treatment (MAT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational enhancement therapy (MET), trauma-informed care, and multidimensional family therapy (MDFT) aimed at youth and families. These strategies are designed to alleviate symptoms, enhance coping mechanisms, and promote sustained recovery. The programs are designed to address the cultural and community-specific needs of clients. For instance, the Latino/Latina Substance Abuse Program delivers care that is both bilingual and bicultural. Support is available for families and teens within their homes and schools, and adults can benefit from employment assistance offered through the Center for Employment Development. Additionally, the Behavioral Health Home program links clients with medical and mental health services to ensure comprehensive care.
The Rehabilitation Center specializes in addressing substance use disorders as well as mental health issues. Patients can expect personalized treatment designed to meet their specific needs and diagnoses, develop effective coping strategies for recovery, and build meaningful relationships within a supportive atmosphere.
