High Watch Recovery Center was founded in 1939 as the first-ever 12-Step treatment facility. Over the years, it has helped numerous individuals break free from the grips of substance addiction. The center provides a range of services, including inpatient care, intervention services, an extended care program, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), transitional sober living options for women, and aftercare assistance. For those seeking more adaptable schedules, High Watch also offers Telehealth IOP and online AA meetings. Every resident in the inpatient program undergoes a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment to develop a personalized treatment strategy. Each participant collaborates with a dedicated 12-Step coach in individual sessions. The center features an Empowering Women in Recovery group aimed at helping women acknowledge their strengths and resilience while exploring ways to leverage these qualities in their recovery path. Topics covered include overcoming low self-esteem, enhancing self-care practices, establishing boundaries, and tackling issues specifically faced by women in recovery. Additionally, there is a 50+ group focused on the distinctive challenges that individuals aged 50 and above encounter, such as relationships with adult offspring and grandchildren, coping with the loss of spouses, retirement issues, and health matters tied to aging. Lastly, High Watch hosts a Relationships in Recovery group, offering a space for clients to discuss how to form and sustain healthy relationships. Located on 200 wooded acres in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, High Watch Recovery Center is a residential medical facility that delivers cutting-edge treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The welcoming environment features comfortable private rooms, shared spaces, and a fitness center, all surrounded by the natural beauty of Connecticut's landscapes. Clients can also participate in equine therapy at their on-site stable, which helps develop skills such as impulse control, accountability, and problem-solving. High Watch is accredited by the Joint Commission, recognized by the NAATP, and certified by LegitScript, and it accepts private insurance.
