Hillcrest Transitional Housing provides a 90-day transitional housing program tailored for adults and families encountering homelessness in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This service is available in locations such as Independence, Lee's Summit, and Sugar Creek in Missouri, as well as Overland Park and Kansas City in Kansas. The program is offered at no cost to eligible participants and encompasses essential services like life skills education, financial guidance, and comprehensive case management within a nurturing community setting. Participants are expected to undertake job searches and engage in 35-40 hours of work weekly to facilitate their move towards self-sufficiency. Hillcrest Transitional Housing maintains a strict drug and alcohol-free policy. In addition, Hillcrest offers a free transitional housing program lasting up to 24 months for teens and young adults aged 16-24. This initiative is available in Independence, Missouri, and in Kansas City and Overland Park in Kansas. During the program, clients focus on setting goals related to budgeting, education, employment, and personal development (BEEP), participating in skills workshops, receiving case management support, and pursuing part-time work. Moreover, Hillcrest provides additional case management, financial aid, and housing placement services for youth, adults, and families residing in Clay, Clinton, and Platte counties. To qualify for this assistance, clients must be experiencing homelessness, which includes living in a vehicle, on the streets, in emergency shelters, or escaping situations of domestic violence.
The rehabilitation center focuses on mental health disorders alongside substance use issues. Here, you will benefit from personalized and team-based care that targets both challenges to promote comprehensive recovery.
