Taos, New Mexico 87571

Located within sight of the Sandia Mountains and just 90 minutes north of Santa Fe, New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center Taos offers comprehensive, trauma-sensitive support for adults dealing with substance use disorders. The center is housed in a residential facility that was formerly a Days Inn next to UPS, featuring a therapeutic garden and scenic desert views. Clients have the opportunity to participate in group nature excursions in the surrounding desert environment. Each individual is provided with their own personal space during their stay. The range of therapies available at New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center includes individual counseling, group sessions, art and music therapy, nutrition guidance, yoga, and medication-assisted treatments. Commonly treated addictions encompass alcohol, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opioids, heroin, fentanyl, pain medications, and methamphetamines. The center promotes strength-based and spiritual approaches to treatment, while accommodating diverse personal beliefs. Both 12-Step and alternative recovery meetings are offered, and they can prescribe methadone and Suboxone when deemed beneficial for the individual. Typically, the treatment program lasts for 30 days, during which clients receive life skills training to prepare them for post-rehabilitation success. Throughout the detox process, clients are monitored around the clock. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center is open to clients who wish to return and assists those in securing food and shelter. Although early discharge is permitted at New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center, it is not encouraged. If clients opt for an early exit, staff ensure their safety and provide necessary discharge resources, promoting ongoing communication for any future support needs. New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center serves the local community and accepts New Mexico Medicaid, but it actively welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, including veterans and members of Native American tribes. Native shamans are available to conduct ceremonial rites and contribute to the healing journey. Additionally, New Mexico Wellness Treatment Center operates a facility in Rio Rancho, located in a northern suburb of Albuquerque that also offers a view of the desert. During intake, clients can express a preference for placement in either location or opt for whichever has the soonest availability. The treatment approaches and costs remain consistent across both centers.
At this facility, the focus is on addressing substance use disorders. The center assists individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and linking them with empathetic support systems.
Our facility is able to accommodate a variety of private insurance plans, numerous Medicaid agreements, and options for private payment.
