Established in 2012 by a team of three medical professionals, 2nd Chance operates a clinic in central Kentucky that provides outpatient services aimed at individuals facing addiction challenges. The treatment program features both individual and group therapy, regular consultations with medical staff, and comprehensive case management support. At 2nd Chance, patients can also access medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT entails medical evaluations to establish a patient's diagnosis and tailor their treatment strategy. This approach utilizes specific medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings that frequently accompany addiction, thereby facilitating a smoother transition into a recovery-oriented lifestyle. The treatment approach at 2nd Chance often integrates individual counseling with group sessions and MAT. This multifaceted strategy has been shown to enhance the chances of achieving sustained sobriety. Individual counseling provides a confidential space for patients to address their unique issues. Group therapy sessions occur weekly and cover a range of subjects, including relapse prevention, substance dependency, parenting challenges, domestic violence, and anger management. These sessions allow participants to share experiences, gaining insights from others facing similar battles while contributing to collective discussions. The case management team at 2nd Chance plays a crucial role in advocating for patients and closely collaborates with them to navigate their recovery journey. They partner with local organizations to link patients with essential resources, helping to eliminate barriers that might hinder progress on the path to recovery.
At this center, the main focus is on addressing substance use disorders. The goal is to assist individuals in achieving stability, developing strategies to prevent relapse, and connecting them with caring support systems.
At present, 2nd Chance is able to process insurance plans from Passport, Anthem, Humana, Aetna, and Wellcare.
