Karen's Place Maternity Center is a detox and residential facility exclusively for pregnant and postpartum women situated on the campus of King’s Daughters Medical Center. It specializes in treating substance use disorders through an integrated program that features CARF-accredited clinical services and medical oversight by an addiction specialist. Emphasizing a Christian-centered philosophy, Karen's Place Maternity Center incorporates 12-Step programs and chaplain support. The center also offers vocational training and skills for neonatal care, allowing mothers to reside with their infants during their stay. The first phase of their comprehensive four-phase program is dedicated to detoxifying the body and developing a custom care strategy. Upon admission, medical staff conduct both physical and mental assessments to personalize treatment plans. The facility ensures a safe environment for withdrawal from substances under medical supervision, with medication-assisted therapy provided as necessary. Guided by a holistic, Christian perspective, the residential program at Karen's Place Maternity Center aims to address the individual's overall wellness—mind, body, and spirit. Clients benefit from around-the-clock support from addiction specialists and participate in evidence-based individual and group counseling designed to uncover triggers and build coping mechanisms. The center hosts AA, NA, and Celebrate Recovery meetings, and clients have the option to advance to intensive outpatient treatment alongside a sober living arrangement for ongoing support with added flexibility. In the second and third phases, the focus shifts to peer support and practical skills for reintegrating into work and educational settings. Karen's Place Maternity Center offers resources for spiritual growth, along with continued access to individual and group therapy and 12-Step sessions. Life skills training includes specialized job preparation, neonatal care techniques, and educational courses. In the final phase, male clients can engage in an internship program aimed at enhancing practical life skills. Upon finishing the program, participants receive a Health and Human Services certificate from Sullivan University, which can be applied to their associate or bachelor’s degree programs.
The rehabilitation center specializes in addressing substance use issues alongside co-existing mental health challenges. Your individualized treatment strategy focuses on both conditions simultaneously, ensuring empathetic support for holistic recovery.
